There are more left handed people because today children that are predominately left handed aren't 'forced' to use their right hand...<br />As for bi-lingual books/magazines - I would not purchase a book/magazine in the U.S.A that has more than just English in it. Of course I never do paper piecing because it only adds more steps to just sewing those seams together.
