Meet SuzieQ -
Meet my new little "Brother" -
Sewing machine, that is - ;))
I named her SuzieQ -
She’s a Brother SQ-9050 -
You can read all about her - here -
Yeah, I know -
Because she’s a “Brother” -
You think that she’s a boy -
And you’re thinking that I named her Sue -
Like in the Johnny Cash song - “A Boy named Sue” -
But I think the company put the “SQ” in her name -
So that I could call her SuzieQ - ;))
She’s just a cheapo from Walmart - here -
But she has more features than my fancy one - go figure - ;))
She came with an extension table -
A walking foot - a FMQ spring foot - 1/4” foot - and a quilting guide -
And all for $200 -
Of course, I was looking for something else at the time - ;))
And did you notice that her model number starts with SQ - like in SQuirrel?? - ;))
I swear - they are EVERYWHERE!! - ;))
Tell you more about her -
After I get to know her better - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

As a side note -
I bought mine at a brick-and-mortar Walmart - NOT online -
If you want one - and the store doesn’t have one in stock -
Have them order it for you -
I wouldn’t recommend ordering it online -
I’ve had trouble with their site - ;))
My name is Sue....How do you do????? I'm sure you are going to have a lot of fun with her. Priscilla (I think she is Suzie Q's cousin) is a Brother and the machine I had before Vivian Westwood was a Brother. Nice machines.
ReplyDeleteHaha - ;)) I have never owned a Brother machine before - and so far I LIKE her - she seems very nice - ;))
DeleteI have had a couple Brother machines and really liked them. My most recent 'little' Brother was gifted to my DGD, Kari. I tend to sell my newer machines when I want to 'upgrade' but have recently been thinking maybe I need to sell my older machines (I do have a few)
ReplyDeleteI was/am amazed at the features on this little thing - more than my "fancy" machine that I bought ten years ago for 8 times the price!! It's an "upgrade" feature-wise - but the price was/is not out of range like most of the "upgrade" models out there - ;))
DeleteYou and Suzy Q have fun getting acquainted! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteOne of my first machines was a cheapie Brother (one that I purchased, not my mom's old Kenmore in a cabinet) It did well till I seriously got into quilting. Then I needed more toys, LOL.
Thanks! I got her for basic piecing - so we'll see how well she does - and how long she lasts. - ;))
