Cutting Flying Geese from strips - LEFT-Handed
I use my LEFT-EZE Rule™ and pre-cut strips to make Flying Geese Units -
If I use 2" strips -
the Flying Geese Units measure 2" x 3-1/2" -
and finish at 1-1/2" x 3" -
If I use 2-1/2" strips -
the Flying Geese Units measure 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" -
and finish at 2" x 4" -
A Flying Geese Unit is made using one QST and 2 HST -
with BOTH shapes cut from the same size strip -
HST - for the "wings" -
you will need 2 "mirror images" HST for a LEFT wing and a RIGHT wing -
you can either layer 2 strips Right Sides Together (RST) -
or use one strip folded over RST - if you want the "wings" to "match" -
QST - for the "goose" -
since you only need one per "unit" - it doesn't matter -
your fabric may be layered either RST or stacked for cutting -
You can find a very detailed demo/tutorial for cutting HST and QST - HERE - ;))
The best part about using the LEFT-EZE Rule™ is that -
BOTH the HST and QST are cut from the same size strip -
the size of the strip determines the finished size -
AND -
BOTH the HST and QST are cut LEFT-HANDED - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -
Great post on your Left-Eze Rule. I think you should add a link to Left-Eze Rule.
