My weepiest moment this month was when my dad sent a picture of the headstone. Just seeing our names etched in stone was rough. Still, I am glad that his site is now properly marked. Your husband deserves the honor but it may be hard to get through it.
Linda Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12585942908710656032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3925958115318632100.post-55543090862433420472014-11-11T14:13:27.812-08:002014-11-11T14:13:27.812-08:00Me, too - we thought that since there would be no ...Me, too - we thought that since there would be no "remains" that there would be no "burial" - there was nothing to bury - but the "In Memory Of" markers are meant for just that purpose - and we are thankful for that - ;))A Left-Handed Quilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01145550105234839991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3925958115318632100.post-172558632580637642014-11-11T14:12:08.056-08:002014-11-11T14:12:08.056-08:00Thanks, Gene - and those who will serve in the fut...Thanks, Gene - and those who will serve in the future should know that they will be honored also - ;))A Left-Handed Quilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01145550105234839991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3925958115318632100.post-15168634503036766822014-11-11T05:41:45.735-08:002014-11-11T05:41:45.735-08:00I, too, was an "Army brat", my first hus...I, too, was an "Army brat", my first husband was in the Air Force and that took me overseas, my current husband of 36 years served in Viet Nam. My G-pa was a military man, my son was in the Army and his son is talking about serving. I guess Patriotism is in our blood.
As for the Memorial service for your hubby, yes take tissues.
