Have this ever happened to you?
I decided that it was time to change the blade in my rotary cutter -
And I always wonder why I wait so long to do that - ;))
Anyway -
This is what I got on the first cut -
WITH a new blade!
Sorry, folks - this ain’t right -
A NEW blade shouldn’t chew up my fabric like this -
So what happened?
What did I do wrong?
I took the rotary cutter apart to check the blade -
It’s not like I haven’t changed the blade before - ;))
Except that I have never done THIS before -
I found that I had loaded TWO blades -
They are so thin that two had stuck together -
And BOTH of them were cutting my fabric -
No wonder it chewed up the edge -
I’ve done some dumb stuff before -
But never this -
So - it’s a new one for me - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -
Yep! Been there. Done that! And almost did it the next time I changed blades. Sheesh!! Isn't it amazing how much nicer a good sharp blade is? Why do we wait so long?
ReplyDeleteOkay, that one is a new one for me.... but I bet next time I change the blade in my rotary cutter, I'll give it a second look :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip!
I have done that actually---just once though. I know on an older package of blades the oil dries up between them and then you don't necessarily see that there is more than one. I tend to use a 60mm more than the 45 so that is the one that welded together, LOL
