Sometimes -

I surprise myself -

And have a REALLY good idea -

That saves me some time and trouble - LOL -

I finished sewing the bottom row -

On the 10 White/Color Churn Dash blocks -

Pressed them all nice and neat -

And put them up on the design wall -

Then it was time to trim the first batch of Black/Color HST -

The ones in the back are for the next batch -

I already had the middle rows sewn together -

And THAT was my REALLY good idea -

Because -

After the first batch of Black/Color HST were trimmed -

It was easy to grab a "middle" row -

And lay out the other two matching "bars" -

And the four corner HST -

To make the block -

And there was no "guessing" -

As to which "way" the Black/Color pieces went -

The "middle" row told me all I needed to know - LOL -

In this batch - the Black goes next to the White -

So I made a pile to sew together tomorrow -

Then I can play with the other set of Black/Color HST and bars -

Those will have the Black/Color reversed -

And the "middle" row tells me -

In this batch - the Colors go next to the White  -

So - there will be no "thinking" involved -

I already DID that part - LOL - ;))

Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

  1. Yes, that is what I meant about the organizational part of it when I commented on the post about doing the middle rows first. *IF* you got all the middles right, then the rest is much more simple. The thinking is mostly done.

  2. I like anything that takes “thinking” off the table. Also, numbers. These are looking wonderful!

  3. Thinking on the front end always pays off. Thinking after the fact requires my nemesis- the seam ripper.
