Do you do the ditch quilting as a starting point for free-motion quilting? I took one class where they instructor insisted that you need to ditch quilt "every stinking seam." I just refused to do that Ha ha. Sometimes I do a small bit of ditch quilting to reinforce the spray basting, but I just dive right into FMQ most of the time.
