You'll get better. I promise. My first ones were so square and wonky it wasn't even funny. That was my goal when I got my longarm. I didn't want feathers, I wanted swirls. I was discouraged because circles seem so easy. But I got there. But some are sometimes still a little wonky. And sometimes I still quilt myself into a corner. All in a days work, right? You'll find a rhythm and pattern that works for you, I'm sure. You're doing way more research than I did, so you'll probably get there faster!
Check out some of Christina Cameli's doodles also. She has a smooth way of working that helps me. https://www.afewscraps.com/p/all-over-quilting-designs.html

ReplyDeleteSwirls are one of my go-to patterns for quilting. For me, they are easy. (The center point may or may not be pointed though)
ReplyDeleteJust do them, the more you do the better you will get at it.
