At least I think I fixed it -
I think the
thread shredding was caused by the needle being a bit "old" -
When I replaced
it with the first new one -
There was no shredding - but the needle broke - for
whatever reason -
The second "new" needle probably wasn't all the way up in the housing -
And came loose when I sewed a little faster than I normally do -
It looked like it broke in half -
And it seems to be OK so far -
But now I've probably jinxed it - LOL - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -
Hopefully that was the only problem and you have it fixed. The first needle may have been ever so slightly bent - I KNOW how that causes problems.
ReplyDeleteAnd if the needle isn't fully "pushed in" then it is "too long" which can cause it to break.
Wishing you jinx free sewing!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have lots of smooth sewing now. I have to change the needle on my machine today, round top instead of flat back so it is a challenge to get it in just perfectly.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Wanda. Those round top needles are oh so finicky to get in just perfectly. If it is a little off center, the shredding commences.
