For my "experiment" is done - 

 

I made it extra wide and extra long - 

To make sure that it covers the "base" - 

 

And will "trim" it down later - 

Tomorrow I'll center it on the "base" and start quilting -

 

I should be able get it done in the next couple of days - ;))
