LHQSQ - Adding "Square in a Square" to the Mix

More 6” sampler blocks -

That you can make using -

2-1/2” squares -

And anything else -

That finishes at 2” -

Three across and three down -

Variations of the basic NINE-PATCH -

The sewn block will MEASURE 6-1/2” -

And FINISH at 6” -

===

This next batch of sampler blocks -

Will add another element to the mix -

SQUARE IN A SQUARE units -

That FINISH at 2” -

According to EQ7 -

These units are made with the center square cut at 1-7/8” -

And two 1-7/8” squares cut once on the diagonal -

To yield four “corner” triangles -

With straight edges on the outside - ;))

Or you can use the Easy Angle ™ by Sharon Hultgren -

Or they can be Foundation Paper Pieced -

Using 2” squares for the center squares -

And 2-1/2” squares cut once on the diagonal - for the four “corners” -

Then trimming them all down to size -

To me - the fabric waste should be minimal -

And the accuracy should more than compensate for it anyway - ;))

Since there are a number of different ways to make this unit -

Just use your favorite - ;))

Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Ah, I wondered where your nine patch journey would lead next! Now I see what you might have planned.
