Same -

As yesterday -

Today I made no progress at all -

On my Harmonic Convergence -

But that's OK -

Tomorrow is another day - ;))

Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

The last row -

Of the border -

Of my Harmonic Convergence -

Has been Free-Motion quilted with more wavy lines to fill the space -

The stitching shows up nicely on the darker fabric -

But not so much on the other fabrics -

Unless you look REAL closely -

I think the texture will be nice -

When it gets all washed and crinkly -

And surprise - surprise -

I already made the binding -

And the Scrap Card and the Heart -

Yay me!! - LOL -

So - on tomorrow's agenda -

I have to trim it -

And sew the binding on - ;))

The third row -

Of the border -

Of my Harmonic Convergence -

Has been Free-Motion quilted with lines going back and forth -

I was going along just fine -

Until I realized that something was wrong -

I had the excess border fabric folded over -

And caught in the stitching -

So I had to "un-sew" that part -

And then I continued on -

The corners were tricky -

But I did the best I could -

Like I said -

It won't be entered in a contest -

Or win any prizes -

But the texture should be nice -

When it gets all done and washed -

Tomorrow I'll fill in the last little bit -

Between the last row and the edges -

Then it will be ready for binding - ;))

Borders -

The first border -

Of my Harmonic Convergence -

Has been Free-Motion quilted with "Lazy 8s" -

Or "Wishbones" - depending on your preference -

They don't show up that well on some of the fabrics -

Which is probably a good thing - LOL -

But they do show up on the darker fabric -

So when I quilted the second border area in spirals -

I only took the one photo -

So you could see the design -

Tomorrow I'll decide what I want to quilt in the next border area -

I think it will be something "vertical" -

As opposed to something running "left to right" -

Because I want to turn the quilt -

So that the bulk of it is in my lap -

And not smashed up against the wall behind my machine -

It should be easier to quilt that way -

At least I hope so -

And I think that it might look funny -

If the next design goes in the "other" direction -

Compared to the spirals - ;))

The last two corners -

Of my Harmonic Convergence -

Have the extra grid lines now -

With no broken needles -

And a well-behaved sewing machine -

The grid lines on this one are "semi-regular" -

They are not "equal" distances apart -

I just chopped the area in roughly equal parts -

Some in half - others in thirds -

Whatever looked good to me at the moment -

The lines in the corner squares were weird -

Since one corner square was 6" x 7" -

And the rest were closer to 7" x 7" -

So I chalked a diagonal line from one corner of the square to the other -

For my pivot point -

And just winged it -

The last set of lines -

Were roughly half-way between the original ones -

And I let it go at that -

Just don't measure them  -

If you ever see it "in real life" - LOL - ;))

More -

Grid lines were added -

In the corner squares -

Of my Harmonic Convergence -

But only two of them -

Because on the second one -

I broke two needles -

And had to re-thread my machine numerous times -

It did NOT want to sew those last two inches - LOL -

Those two "inch" lines in the bottom RIGHT corner -

But the additional lines DO look better -

And are more on the same scale -

As the grid lines to the left of the corner -

As opposed to what they looked like yesterday -

So tomorrow I'll finish up the other two corners -

Assuming my machine wants to play nicely - LOL - ;))

Same -

As yesterday -

I think I'm going to add a few more grid lines in the corner squares -

Of my Harmonic Convergence -

The spacing between the lines -

Is a bit more than it is the other areas -

And looks a little "hurried" to me -

Like I was getting bored and just wanted it to be DONE -

Which I was - LOL -

And I haven't decided what I want to do in the borders yet -

There are way too many options - LOL - ;))

Even more -

Grid lines were added -

To my Harmonic Convergence

So now the center portion is quilted -

Next up are the borders -

I had already stitched some wavy base lines -

And I plan to fill in the areas with some "swirly" designs -

Then we'll see if the contrast between the center's grid -

And the border's "swirls/curves" works -

In "real life" -

As well as it does in my head - LOL - ;))

More -

Blocks on the wall -

For my Basic Math - Enchanted Forest -

I put the 6-1/2" blocks up on the wall -

And filled in the spaces -

And added the outer rows/columns -

It's not final -

But it's a start -

Then I added more grid lines -

To my Harmonic Convergence

I had done some Free-Motion loops in one section -

But I didn't like it -

It was too "distracting" -

So I "unsewed" the loops -

And went back to plain old grid lines -

One bit at a time -

One stitch line at a time -

One day at a time - LOL - ;))

A little -

Re-arranging -

Of the blocks -

For my Basic Math - Enchanted Forest -

Was about all I got done today -

It doesn't look that much different really -

But I plan to put up the plain 6-1/2" squares tomorrow -

And then see what it looks like - ;))

A little sewing -

But first -

An answer to a question posed in yesterday's comments -
Why were the sprinkles on the cookies before the icing?
There were two batches of cookies -

The first batch were "drop" cookies -

But smashed a little -

With sprinkles on top -

They spread like pancakes -

Then they got frosting and more sprinkles on top -

The second batch were "cookie cutter" shapes -

Mermaids and Unicorns -

Both batches got sprinkles on top before they went in the oven -

So the sprinkles baked right in - ;))

Now for the sewing part -

I played with my new Basic Math - Enchanted Forest -
The PURPLE/GREEN batik one -

And sewed the rectangles together -

And made the 4-patches -

Four piles -

Blocks A - B - C - D -

Then to the design wall in the hallway -

Where I put up the 4-patches and the rectangle blocks -

I'll play with re-arranging those for a while -

Then I'll add the 6-1/2" squares (Block A) -

To fill in the spaces -

It should be fun -

There really is no WRONG way to do the layout -

The layer cake fabrics/colors are already coordinated -

And will look good -

No matter what -

I'll just try to keep the same fabrics from touching -

And call it good - LOL - ;))

Odds and ends -

The Scrap Card and Heart -

For my Basic Math - Red/Blue/Brown -

Were a bit tricky -

Since the pattern* has virtually no waste -

So I used scraps from the unused 10" squares -

And the backing and binding fabrics -

Then we played -

And made some "Mermaid" and "Unicorn" sugar cookies -

And made a mess -

This Unicorn has two horns - LOL -

And the frosting was supposed to be "Rainbow Swirly" -

But turned out GREEN -

But that's OK -

Everything is better with Sprinkles -

We had PLENTY of Sprinkles - ;))

Bound -

My Basic Math - Red/Blue/Brown -

Is bound -

And ready for a label -

I took some other photos -

But the texture doesn't show that well on them -

The backing is busy enough -

That the various thread colors -

Don't show that much -

Unless it's 6 inches from your face - LOL - ;))
