Something -

Told me to stop and check the layout -

For my Mulberry 16-patch

After I webbed the rows -

And before I sewed the columns together -

Good thing I did -

Because the bottom two rows are upside down -

Needless to say -

Tomorrow will be spent "un-sewing" -

And then "re-sewing" those two rows -

Because I sew the blocks into columns as I go -

I should be able to remove the bottom two blocks -

From each column -

Reverse them -

And then sew them back on -

At least that's the plan - LOL - ;))

Webbing -

My Mulberry 16-patch

One block at a time -

It should be done in the next day or two -

And while I'm stitching -

BOB wonders why "webbing" -

Reminds me of "Charlotte's Web" - LOL - ;))

Layout redo -

The Mulberry 16-patch layout is done -

My daughter took all of the blocks off the wall -

And totally redid it -

It's on the wall sideways -

Because the 8 x 10 layout is longer than the wall is tall -

And the "top" is on the left side -

She's done playing with it -

So now it's my turn -

I'll be webbing it soon -;))

Layout -

Interruptus - LOL - ;))

I posted about the last batch of blocks -

For my Mulberry 16-patch - HERE -

And I made the Scrap Card and Heart - HERE -

And they are all up on the design wall in the hallway -

But it seems that - every time we walk by -

One or two of them fall off the wall -

And since neither of us has had much time to re-arrange them -

We just slap them back up on the wall -

To be played with "later" -

So the layout is there -

But it's not done yet -

Maybe soon -

Maybe not - LOL - ;))

Done -

The puzzle is done -

Car Stamps -
Ceaco - 1000 pieces -

And I did a little stitching today -

I went back to the square feather -

And filled in just a little in the middle of each one -

Then I tried another one in another square -

And decided that I would try another one in a plain block -

So that I could "see" what I was doing -

Surprise -

I couldn't see that one either!! -

There's an advantage to having matching thread -

You can't see my wobbles -

There's also a disadvantage to having matching thread -

I can't see where I'm stitching -

Or where I've stitched already - LOL -

It won't matter when it's washed anyway -

You'll only see the texture -

So I'm OK with that - ;))

Almost -

Forgot to schedule my post for the morning -
EDIT - I DID forget what day it was -
Since it was after midnight -
I scheduled this for tomorrow - Friday morning -
Instead of today - Thursday -
But I fixed it - and here it is - LOL -

And I almost forgot to take some more photos -

So that I had something to post - LOL -

This is what I had when I started -

After my daughter went to work -

And this is what I have now -

It may not look like much -

But I filled in some areas on the left side -

And a few bits and pieces on the right -

And it's ALMOST done -

And I ALMOST sewed something today -

But the puzzled called -

And I played with it instead - LOL - ;))

More puzzle -

Still no sewing -

But a bit more of the puzzle -

Most of it was done by my daughter -

But I did add a few pieces here and there -

I'm hoping my sewing mojo returns tomorrow -

And I hope she had a good time -

Wherever she went - LOL - ;))

No sewing today -

I wasn't in the mood -

So I don't have any new "quilty" photos for you -

And I know you like photos -

So I'll "re-run" two of my favorites of Echo -

On the couch with her monkey - ;))

Tomorrow is another day -

Maybe it will involve some sewing - ;))

Only two -

Of the 6" squares -

On my "Basic Math" quilt -

Got stitched today -

I did square feather in one block -

And some echoed swirls in another one -

I included photos of the "back" -

Because they are hard to see from the front -

Since the thread blends in so well -

And that's good and bad -

Good - because you can't see my wobbles -

Bad - because you can't see what I stitched - LOL -

Anyway -

I may go back and fill in that feather a bit more -

To match the density of the other designs -

And it's not much -

But it's two more blocks than I had done yesterday - ;))

A good sewing day -

I made good progress today -

On my "Basic Math" quilt -

I finished all of the 4-patches -

With swirls in the Blue ones -

Square spirals in the Brown and Gold ones -

And more swirls in the Beige ones -

The Red ones and the Light Blue ones have pebbles -
From before -

That leaves me with the large 6" squares to stitch -

And - if I counted correctly - there are 38 of them -

So I get to try a LOT of different designs -

Or at least a few of my favorites - LOL - ;))

Some pebbles -

In Red and Blue -

On my "Basic Math" quilt -

The 4-patches are made up of  3" squares -

So they are fun little areas for smaller scale designs -

And pebbles fit the bill nicely in the red/blue ones -

I might try spirals in the brown/beige/gold ones -

And by the time I finish the them all -

I should have some idea -

Of what I want to stitch -

In the big 6" squares -

At least I hope so - LOL - ;))

No sewing today -

But we did play with the puzzle a bit -

Car Stamps -
Ceaco - 1000 pieces -

The border and a couple of stamps -

And some words -

More words -

And a tray of "stamp edges" -

Maybe I'll sew tomorrow -

It's nice to take a break once in a while - ;))

Red -

Was next in line for the quilting -

On my "Basic Math" quilt -

I tried to stitch some "ribbon candy" in this first Red rectangle -

And realized the "density" was too big -

So I tried to fill it in a bit -

Then I thought I could stitch two "rows" in each Red rectangle -

But I had to do the second row from right to left -

And that didn't look all that wonderful -

So I decided to do loops in the rest of them -

The density is about the same as the straight lines back and forth -

So they look much better to me -

NOTE TO SELF -
Pay attention to the density of the FIRST design you stitch -
That one will dictate the density of the rest of them - LOL -

I'll check tomorrow -

But I think that's it for the rectangles -

And that leaves me with the 4-patch blocks -

And the large 6" squares -

The 4-patches will give me a chance to practice some smaller scale designs -

Maybe some pebbles and spirals -

And I'll save the large squares for last -

I can use them to practice big flowers and feathers -

And anything else that needs SPACE - LOL - ;))

Gold and blue -

Were next in line for the quilting -

On my "Basic Math" quilt -

I stitched more straight lines back and forth on the Gold ones -

And some paisley ones -

They are great practice to get my hand speed and machine speed in sync -

And to get my stitches neat and tidy and in a straight line -

And then I stitched some more Lazy 8s or Wishbones on the Blue ones -

I guess my Lazy 8s or Wishbones don't want to lean very much -

They want to stand up straight -

And I'm OK with that -

As long as I can keep them all about the same size -

They look fine to me -

And here's another one of my favorite coffee mugs -

Which now holds my pens and pencils -

I've had it for years -

The bottom of it says -
Shoebox Greetings (a tiny division of Hallmark) -
© 1988 - Hallmark Cards, Inc. -

This one got me through a number of tax seasons -

Since there was NO doubt that I was busy -

And I had a mug to prove it - LOL - ;))

Beige -

Was next in the line-up -

For quilting my "Basic Math" quilt -

I decided to do Lazy 8s or Wishbones -

In the Beige rectangles -

I love the texture -

And I'm getting better at getting them the same size -

But they don't "slant" very much -

So I might try that with a different color -

In the meantime -

I thought I'd share a photo -

Of one of my favorite coffee mugs -

In case you can't read it all -

It says -
Coffee:  the "nine to
five keep me awake -
calm my nerves -
perk me up so I can
work" medicine.
I have a variety of coffee mugs on my desk -

I use them to hold my paperclips - pens - and camera cord -

And then there's RED -

He holds my COFFEE - of course - LOL - ;))

More brown -

I decided to wind another couple of bobbins of each color -

And finish up quilting the Brown rectangles -

In my "Basic Math" quilt -

And then the Light Blue ones - with Silver thread -

Because I haven't decided yet -

What I want to stitch with the other colors -

And then I wondered how I missed this one -

When I was doing the Brown ones -

Turns out THESE are the Brown ones -

And there are THREE paisleys -

With THREE different backgrounds -

Brown - Blue - and Beige -

The one I "missed" was a "Beige" one -

I wondered if maybe I wasn't caffeinated enough yet -

To notice that I had three different versions -

But BOB thinks that I WAS -

And that's why I skipped it -

In the first place - LOL - ;))
