Moving along -

On the puzzle -

Which is more fun to me -

Now that we're over half way done -

And have fewer pieces to sort through -

To find the one we want/need -

I played with filling in the tiger in the middle -

My daughter played with the tiger on her side -

And we're still missing a piece here -

And some over here -

I've looked and looked for them -

And haven't been able to find them yet -

But I know that they're in there somewhere - LOL - ;))

Slowly -

But surely -

This will all come together - ;))

Sorting -

The pieces for a puzzle -

Is a LOT  easier -

When they have letters on the back - LOL -

So - while my daughter resorts the remaining pieces -

Of "Tiger Lagoon" -

Now that we have a better idea of what goes in the missing sections -

I'm sorting the pieces for another one -

So they will be ready when we are -

Then tomorrow I want to sort these jelly rolls -

For another project -

Sorting strips is MUCH more FUN -

Than sorting puzzle pieces - LOL - ;))

The top -

Is connected -

To the bottom -

Yay!! -

We still have some large holes to fill -

And that may take us a while -

This puzzle is  "Tiger Lagoon" -
Buffalo Games -  2000 pieces -

And there are no letters on the back -

To help tell us where the pieces go -

So we're taking our time -

And having FUN with it -

It's like a quilt -

It takes as long as it takes - LOL - ;))

The last ten -

Of these Churn Dash blocks -

Will join their friends -

To make a "Deep Ocean" Churn Dash quilt top -

"Deep Ocean" is the name of the charm packs that I used -

And the first four of this batch -

Will soon have their own friends -

My daughter has a PLAN - LOL - ;))

A little sewing -

And I got the parts -

In the top and bottom rows of these piles -

Sewn together -

To make the rows in these piles -

But then I got sidetracked -

Because my daughter found another set of charm packs to play with -

And laid out the parts for four new blocks -

And I couldn't resist playing with them, too -

These are going to be pretty -

I'll show you tomorrow -

After I get them sewn together - ;))

Ten more -

Churn Dash blocks were sewn together today -

Black/Color -

To go with the White/Color ones from the other day -

So that leaves me with one more batch to sew -

Color/Black -

And I should be able to get those together -

In the next day or two - ;))

Thursday, September 23, 2021

Same -

As yesterday -

And the day before -

Since today was another "chore" day -

And I didn't sew a single stitch -

Maybe tomorrow - ;))

More trimming -

Of the rest of the HST -

For my Churn Dash blocks -

Was at the top of my "to do list" today -

I thought that I would just get it over with -

Since it's not my favorite thing to do -

When I was rid of that "chore"-

I made another set of piles -

For the last batch of blocks -

Now I don't have to switch between trimming and sewing -

I can make the rest of the blocks -

Which is MUCH more fun than trimming HST - LOL - ;))

Sewing -

The top and bottom rows -

On the first batch of Black/Color Churn Dash blocks -

Reminded me that I needed to trim the rest of the HST -

Which is not my favorite chore -

So if sewed them together first -

I could switch off between sewing/making blocks -

And trimming HST -

So I sewed and pressed the second batch of HST units -

And the "bars" -

Set them to one side -

And called it a day -

I can pick up where I left off - tomorrow - ;))

Sometimes -

I surprise myself -

And have a REALLY good idea -

That saves me some time and trouble - LOL -

I finished sewing the bottom row -

On the 10 White/Color Churn Dash blocks -

Pressed them all nice and neat -

And put them up on the design wall -

Then it was time to trim the first batch of Black/Color HST -

The ones in the back are for the next batch -

I already had the middle rows sewn together -

And THAT was my REALLY good idea -

Because -

After the first batch of Black/Color HST were trimmed -

It was easy to grab a "middle" row -

And lay out the other two matching "bars" -

And the four corner HST -

To make the block -

And there was no "guessing" -

As to which "way" the Black/Color pieces went -

The "middle" row told me all I needed to know - LOL -

In this batch - the Black goes next to the White -

So I made a pile to sew together tomorrow -

Then I can play with the other set of Black/Color HST and bars -

Those will have the Black/Color reversed -

And the "middle" row tells me -

In this batch - the Colors go next to the White  -

So - there will be no "thinking" involved -

I already DID that part - LOL - ;))

Trimming -

The HST reminded me -

That I should trim the quilts that I finished quilting recently -

While the kitchen island is cleared off -

So I did -

And I made a pile on the back of the chair -

Where they can wait until I find the binding I made already -

Or make some to match -

Then I trimmed the first set of four White/Color HST -

And laid them out on the ironing board -

With the matching "bars" -

And trimmed and stacked the rest of them -

And sewed the top rows together -

And made a pile of those -

And sewed the bottom rows -

And made a pile of those -

Pressed them all - nice and neat -

Then added the pile of middle rows -

That I sewed a couple of days ago -

Sewed the middle row to the top row -

And made a pile of the matched sets with the bottom rows -

To be sewn tomorrow -

Or whenever - LOL - ;))
