From around the holidays last year - 

 

So I played with them for a while - 

 

One was completely done - 

 

So I sewed around all of the edges on the rest of them - 

Turned them all inside-out - 

And top stitched the second one - 

The other four shouldn't take long to finish -

 

After I do my "chores" tomorrow - ;))

A quick glance -

 

  

At the contents of a couple of baggies - 

 

Showed some great candidates for "crumb" blocks - 

 

But only a couple of strips that are long enough - 

 

For my Antique Squirrel - "regular" version -  

 

 

So - I set those aside for now - 

And decided to do some mindless sewing - 

 

And made some more strip sets -

I LOVE the colors in this one!! - ;))

Progress -

 

 

Sorting through stuff for my Scrapbook - 

 

Cleared this basket of scraps - 

 

That are no longer needed for Scrap Cards or Hearts - 

 

 

So they can go back into the "general population" - 

 

And be used for whatever suits my fancy - 

 

I made pages for projects completed in 2019 and 2020 - 

 

And found that I still need to make Scrap Cards and Hearts - 

 

For only two of those projects - 

 

So that will be on the agenda in the next day or two - 

 

Along with pressing those "new" scraps - 

 

To see if any are likely candidates - 

 

For my Antique Squirrel - "regular" version - ;))

Scrapbook -

 

 

Updating is my chance to get a bit organized - 

 

Some of my projects have the Hearts and Scrap Cards made already -

 

But I'm not consistent -

 

So the Scrapbook part is my chance to sort through my baggies of scraps -

 

Try to get them organized - 

 

And see which ones need scrap cards and/or hearts - 

 

Like this set for my Blue/Yellow Potholders - 

 

 

Once I'm sure that the quilt labels have been made - 

 

And I have no more need for the scraps - 

 

Then they can join the "general population" again -  ;))

Another 8 strip sets - 

 

For my Antique Squirrel - BIG BROTHER version - 

 

I didn't realize - 

 

Until I took this photo - 

 

That this batch has several sets with a TURQUOISE center strip - 

 

But it should be OK - 

 

Each strip set will give me two "units" - 

 

And there will be a total of 80 units - 

 

So - hopefully I'll be able to mix them up - 

 

And spread them out - ;))

Mindless sewing -

 

 

Is just the ticket - 

 

After spending the day doing paperwork - 

 

 

Sewing strip sets is SO relaxing - 

 

I plan to sew more tomorrow - 

After I do some other paperwork "chores" -

 

It's so nice to have the strips cut and ready to sew - ;))

The Plan -

 

 

After cutting a BUNCH of HST yesterday - 

 

 

I cut the pack of 6" strips - 

 

 

Down to narrower strips - 

 

Then I cut squares from some yardage - 

 

And made some Square-in-a-Square units - 

 

And sewed some strip sets - 

 

Then cut them to make Bar units - 

 

For the pieces for a block - 

 

That is not sewn together yet - 

 

A block that is the BIG BROTHER version - 

 

Of my Antique Squirrel - 

 

My Antique Squirrel block is GREAT for SCRAPS - 

 

But it might take me a while to make enough blocks for a large quilt top - 

 

BOB likes the BIG BROTHER version - 

 

Because one block is the same size as four smaller ones - LOL - ;))

Some cutting -

 

 

Was on the agenda for today - 

 

After a little MATH exercise - 

 

I determined that I was ONE fat quarter short - 

 

So I added the GRAY one to the mix - 

 

 

And then used my die cutter - 

 

To cut a BUNCH of HST - 

Tomorrow I have more cutting to do - 

 

When I have all of the pieces cut - 

 

I'll share what I plan to do with them - ;))

And took a nap - LOL -

More cutting -

 

 

For my Antique Squirrel - 

 

Was on the agenda today - 

 

After I found some left over binding - 

 

That will be perfect for "Bar" units - 

 

The DARK GREEN is already 1-1/2" wide - 

 

And the LIGHT  GREEN is 1-3/4" wide -

 

So I trimmed it to 1-1/2" easily - 

 

After I "unsewed" it - LOL -

 

 

Then I decided to cut the remainder of the "center squares" - 

 

And pinned them in groups of 5 - 

 

So that they are easy to count - 

 

Then I layered some scraps on a HST die - 

 

Ran it through my cutter - 

 

And took off the excess around the border - 

 

Then sorted though the pieces - 

 

And pulled out the "bits" that you see at the top of the photo - 

 

These will be added to the basket of HST - 

And I can cut more as I go along - 

Until I run out of "center squares" - 

 

That need "corners" - LOL - ;))

And then I unearthed some long-forgotten baggies - 

 

Full of pretties - 

 

That need to be pressed - 

 

And run through my die cutter - 

 

I LOVE finding and using scraps from previous projects - 

 

It's such fun to revisit the memories of those older quilts - ;))

Tomorrow I plan to cut more "pieces" - 

I really would like a larger variety of fabric choices - 

And it's not like I don't have a bunch of scraps -
