And the rest -

Are sewn and ready to be sub-cut into segments -

To make blocks -

For my Blue Moon 16-patch -
Pattern by Wanda S. Hanson -  Exuberant Color
You can find her EXCELLENT tutorial - HERE

I made them in two batches -

And cut and sorted some -

And played with those -

These go pretty quickly -

And it's FUN - ;))

When I get all of the blocks made -

I'll let my daughter play with the layout - ;))

And another bunch of strip sets are ready -

To be sub-cut into segments -

For more blocks -

Tomorrow might be another "chore" day -

But not if I can help it -

I'd rather SEW - LOL - ;))

Good sewing day -

And a very productive one -

I made 18 blocks -
9 sets of two -

And sewed the strip sets for several more -

And Echo got a new squeaky toy -

A Squirrel - LOL -

Who won't stand up by himself -

I had to prop him up with some boxes -

So you could see him better -

And - NO - Grandma didn't help her choose the Squirrel -

She did it all by herself - LOL - ;))

First block -

Of my Blue Moon 16-patch -

Was cut and partially sewn -

After I did some "chores" today -

And is just in columns so far -

But tomorrow I have planned a nice SEWING day -

So I should be able to finish it -

And some its friends - LOL - ;))

Sorting -

The two "Blue Moon" flat packs have a total of 80 strips -

So I spent some time today playing and sorting them -

I don't have a lot of space on my ironing board -

So I made piles of four strips -

Each pile will make two sets of blocks -

The colors are SO pretty -

And I think I have a good mix of high-contrast and low-contrast -

Some blocks will be darker than others -

But they will ALL play nicely together -

So it should be a pretty top - ;))

A new Squirrel -

Jumped right out of this box full of strip packs -

2 - Alpine Jungle -
4 - Lotus Bloom -
2 - Glowing Embers -

2 - Blue Moon -
1 - Pressed Petals -
1 - Dotilicious Earth -
1 - Victoria and Albert -

I decided to pull the 2 - Blue Moon -

And think I'll make a 16-patch -

Using the pattern that I found on Wanda S. Hanson's blog - Exuberant Color

She has an EXCELLENT tutorial - HERE

Her instructions ensure that ALL of the seams nest nicely -

I made this one in 2017 -

And it's about time that I made another one - LOL - ;))

A little organizing -

And re-arranging of stuff -

Was on the agenda today -

And look what I found -

That I had completely forgotten about -

A gatorade box full of flat packs -

Island Batik - 40 strip packs -

Thirteen of them - some in sets of two and four -

Oh - be still my heart!! -

SQUIRREL!!!!!!!!!! - LOL - ;))

Nothing much -

Was done today -

Except a bunch of "chores" that are not blog-worthy - LOL -

So I thought I would share some photos of my "Hearts" -

That's 124 so far -

And I have 40 more to go -

According to my list of "Works in Progress" -

There are (or will be) Hearts -

For the quilts that I have made for family and friends -

And those that I have donated to my friend - Frog Quilter - for Quilty Hugs

For my Sudoku Quilts -

For my Table toppers -

For my Upstairs/Downstairs series -

Some even won a ribbon at the County Fair in years past -

And/or a ribbon in a quilt show in a near-by town -

Each one is a "Memory" -

And some "things" that I have made through the years are not actual "quilts" -

But I want to "remember" them -

So they're in there, too - LOL - ;))

Playtime -

This time in EQ -

I spent some time the other day -

Installing the program on my new-ish laptop -
That I got last year -

And fumbling about with the latest version -

And not making much progress -

I sure was better at the older version of the program -

But I know it will take time to learn how the new one works -

And all things have a learning curve -

So I did the "basics" -

And "drafted" a possible layout for my Hearts -

My "Memory Quilt" -

I know it doesn't look like "Hearts" -

Because I used a "Butterfly" - LOL -

All of the "Heart" samples were "straight" -

And I wanted one on the diagonal -

So I used a "Butterfly" instead -

Anyway -

This is just a "first" draft -

And I thought about using sashing and cornerstones -

But if I use an "Hourglass Block" -

As an alternate block -

And shade them in darker tans and grays -

I should be able to applique the Hearts to a variety of "neutrals" -

Once I decide on a block "size" -

And make them look like they are "on point" and  "framed"-

Without all of that extra work - LOL -

What do you think? - ;))

No sewing again -

But we did finish the puzzle -

Here's where we left it last time -

And since all of the remaining pieces were "chocolate" -

We thought we would be clever and turn them all upside-down -

And just go by the shape of the pieces -

The pieces are all different -

So it seemed like a good plan -

And it worked in the case of this piece -

It fit nicely in the open space at the bottom LEFT -

But it was hard to mentally flip the other pieces "backwards" -

So we opted to turn them all back over -

So we could see the "chocolate" -

And finished it with no problem -

But it sure made us hungry for something sweet - LOL - ;))

Tomorrow is another day -

So - hopefully - I'll get to sew - ;))

Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -
