Messing -

With some scraps -

Before I start messing with the backing -

I got sidetracked today with some "chores" -

So I still need to cut the fabric into widths -

And I think I can lengthen it a bit -

If I insert some strips between the sections -

I should be able to play with it a little tomorrow - ;))

Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

More desserts -

Of the puzzle variety -

I worked on the "Skittles" jar -
And the bottom left corner -

While my daughter worked on everything else -

I had trouble with my little part -

And she seemed to have no trouble at all - LOL - ;))

The math -

For the backing -

Has been done -

I have three 2-yard pieces -
And 6 yards should be plenty for the backing -

I think I can split them into 30" and 12" lengths -
And arrange them like this -
To get a backing about 84" x 90" -

The top is 64" x 80" -
So a backing that is 84" x 90" should be big enough -
And I should have some ORANGE left over -
If I want/need to make it longer -

In the meantime -
Echo has a new squeaky toy -
She LOVES her little monkey -

And we put the "Birds" away again -

And pulled out another puzzle -

Delicious Desserts -
Buffalo Games - 2000 pieces -

We did quite a bit in several different areas -

I worked on the cupcake on the bottom (center) -
And the "Skittles" jar in the bottom left corner -

My daughter is the whiz-kid who built all of the other parts -

How she "sees" which piece goes where absolutely amazes me - ;))

More puzzle -

More "Birds of Asia" -
Findley Paper Arts - 2000 pieces -

This one is HARD -

The pieces are little -

And the designs/colors show up in a variety of places -

I'm ready to put it away and pull out another one -

But my daughter isn't ready - yet -

And I still haven't done the MATH -

That I need for the backing on my quilt top -

So - I need to play with that tomorrow - ;))

These are all 2-yard pieces -

So I don't have to "choose" which one to use -

I'll be using all three fabrics -

I think 6 yards should be enough for the backing -

But now I have to do some MATH - LOL -

On the puzzle front -

We dug out the "Birds of Asia" again -
Findley Paper Arts - 2000 pieces -

But we didn't get very far -

Tomorrow is another day - ;))

A finish -

Of the puzzle variety -

Ta Dah! - ;))

We finished the last section -

And added it to the rest of them -

Boy, that last section had a LOT of BROWN -

But I think it turned out BEAUTIFULLY -

And it was a JOY to put together - ;))

Mine -

I received this in the mail today -

From my friend - Gene Black -

The notebook cover included a notebook -

 And his AWESOME label -

He posted about it HERE

And I liked it -

So I bought it -

Now - it's mine - LOL - ;))

Include pretty prints in BLACK - YELLOW/GRAY - and ORANGE -

But I didn't get a chance to sew anything today -

I did some "chores" -

And we played with a puzzle -

This is one of my favorite puzzles -

I LOVE the colors in it - ;))

A little unsewing -

Was on the agenda today -

I took out the "oopsie" block -

The last column on the right -
Third one down -

 Turned it around -

And stitched it back in -

Now it goes the way it should -

Some things I can fix - LOL - ;))

A finish -

It's officially a top! -

Ta Dah! - ;))

Center -

Bottom left corner -

Bottom right corner -

Top left corner -

Top right corner -

And upside down -

The pattern photo has more "homogenous" outer rounds -

So the BLACK makes it look a bit different -

And the "eagle eyes" among you -
Surely caught my goof -

Last column on the right -
Third one down is an "oopsie" -

Oh, well - that just proves that I'm human - LOL - ;))
