Happy Thanksgiving!
Here's hoping that you have a very nice Turkey Day with your family!
And have plenty of leftovers! ;))

This will be my first Thanksgiving as a widow -
And as some of you already know -
We recently had a Memorial Service for my husband - ;))
One of the quotes read at his service -
Was that of George S. Patton -
It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
And -
I do - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Happy Thanksgiving, my friend.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too Kitty. Love your post.
Happy Thanksgiving, Kitty. I hope you and your family have a pleasant day.
Thanks, Gene - ;))
Thanks, Linda - ;))
Thanks, Sherry - ;))
I hope you are getting through the day, Kitty. Good quote there. I would find to live up to but still it rings true.
I hope you are getting through the day, too, my friend. One at a time - it's the only way I can do it - with the help, love and support of family and friends - ;))
I had never heard that quote before - I think it's a good one. I hope I'm not out of line here - I rarely say "I'm sorry for your loss" when it's someone I've known. I prefer to say, "I'm so honored to have known them." I tend to lean toward the positive..... I do hope you had a day of good memories of years past and was able to enjoy your day.... (((hugs)))
Thanks, Katie - You're not out of line at all. I know the "proper" line is "I'm sorry for your loss." - but I think it is so overused and automatic that it has lost its true meaning. I much prefer your response - it is much more heart-felt - thank you. And, yes - I spent the day with friends and memories and was able to enjoy my day - ;))
