Black -
Not White -
Black is a more striking contrast with these colors -
So I cut and stitched a couple of blocks -
A Purple/Black and a Blue/Black -
I could have the Purple/color as the background -
Or the Black as the background -
Either way or both -
And I do believe that my mojo has been talking to Gene Black -
He suggested BLACK -
About the same time she peeked in to say the same thing -

Yes! with rich colors black really makes a nice background.
Black can be striking, but it makes me nervous, like it will take over. I will use black on black or dark charcoal to make myself less nervous.
I once made a block of the month substituting black (instead of the white background suggested). I have a photo but don’t see where I can post it here. I’ll send it to you by email. I liked it so much better!
