Check out all of us who link up with Judy L. at Patchwork Times
on Mondays.
We have some awesome stuff on our walls!
Well, THEY do - ME - not so much sometimes - ;))
===
I got the top section together -
And it looks pretty good -
If I must say so myself - ;))
I even managed to do a bit better -
Matching those silly seams -
Except for the one on the left in the first photo -
But I figure three out of four ain’t bad - ;))
Then I dug out some of my Greens -
To see which one(s) might show up better -
On the Dark Gray -
And narrowed them down -
To the three on the right -
Plus the original three on the left -
So I cut out a bunch more leaves -
Played with the spacing and colors -
Pinned some to the left border -
And put the border up on the design wall -
Then in an email to LindaJ - HERE -
I rambled on and on -
Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to work on the "leaves" or on something else for a while. The floral applique is getting big and unwieldy and I really need to move it to the bigger design wall in the hallway - but that wall is currently covered in LHQSQ blocks - and I need 14 more of them before I can put that top together - and I really don't want to take down 85 blocks and then have to put them all back up again - so maybe I should just make the rest of them and get it done with - but the "leaves" are so pretty and I need to work on the spacing and colors to get them to look right - but this wall isn't big enough - I really need the other one - so maybe I could use the kitchen island instead - but it's got stuff on it - and I would have to clear that off - and it's almost nap time - and sew it goes - haha - ;))Then I decided to play with the top border -
And the top left corner -
Pinned some more leaves -
Put that up on the wall -
And I thought that the leaves looked pretty good -
UNTIL I took this photo -
Now I don't see leaves at all -
I see Christmas lights - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Ooh... Now I see Christmas lights too!
Thanks, Katie - I'm glad it's not just me!! But now I wish that I could UNSEE them - :))
I didn't see Christmas lights until you said something! Maybe once you stitch them they'll disappear and become leaves again....
Thanks, Katie - but I don't think so - I see them now - and it's like those optical illusions - Do you see the vase or the faces?? - Now that I see the lights, I can't see the leaves - so I'm going have to do some more thinking - and staring at it until it tells me what it wants me to do - ;))
Same here - I didn't see the lights until you mentioned it. I love the two color border. If you want it to be leaves - change them to all green leaves - jat --it is coming along nicely whatever you decide to do.
Thanks, Angie - I LOVE the two color border, too - and changing them all to green is one option - along with some others that I am considering. I just wish it would just TELL me what to do - so that I could get on with it - ;))
The quilting will make you un-see Christmas lights, just make the quilting leaves, problem solved! Remeber it will all quilt out!
I love the border, but see the Christmas lites too. Maybe lighter green leaves? Its lovely either way!
Thanks, Patrica - that might work - ;))
Thanks, Lori - that's another option I'm considering - ;))
