Design Wall Monday - 8/11/14
DESIGN WALL MONDAY -
Check out all of us who link up with Judy L. -
At Patchwork Times on Mondays.
We have some awesome stuff on our walls!
Well, THEY do - ME - not so much sometimes - ;))
===
I got sidetracked with “ducks” again this week -
But finally did manage to get back to -
EASY STREET DETOUR -
my version of Easy Street - HERE - ;))
When I checked back on my blog to see where I had left off -
I promptly realized that it was NOT -
LAST YEAR’S Bonnie Hunter Mystery -
As in 2013 -
It was the year BEFORE that -
As in 2012 - ;))
I’m probably the last one on the planet to be working on it -
But I have all of the Block Bs done -
And the first two Block As -
And I found 14 baggies with the pieces for the rest of them - ;))
Each baggie has the pieces for one block -
So - make the four corner units -
Lay it out like a 9-patch -
Stitch it together -
Rinse and repeat - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Your color choices for this quilt are beautiful. Looking forward to seeing your progress. And how nice that you are so organized! Little baggies with the pieces for each block... wonderful.
Thanks, Ramona - ;)) I try to keep myself organized - because I am such a slow-poke - and may drop a project for a couple of years - it's nice to be able to pick up where I left off - when I decide to play with it again - ;))
I'm with Ramona - I like your color choices. Bonnie's was okay, but I didn't care for the bright green. I have downloaded all the clues of the last few Mysteries but have yet to even begin one.... Maybe someday.
I'm not usually crazy about Bonnie's color choices myself - and the fabrics tend to get a little too "busy" for me sometimes - but I like her patterns and the "Mystery" of making hundreds of little interchangeable units and then coming up with something spectacular in the end - it is FUN - ;))
You may be the last one on the planet working on this project, but I have a strong suspicion you are not the last one on the planet with this project unfinished! It's looking great!
Thanks, Katie - I really like the colors and I think that it will look pretty good at the end - even with my slight "detour" - ;))
I agree with all of the above. The fabrics you chose are really great and slow and steady wins the race. You just have longer to enjoy the process.
Thanks, Julie - ;)) I really DO enjoy the process and sometimes think that I have only two speeds - Slow and Stop - ;))
