Five Question Friday - 3/18/11

The Questions for this week are -

1. Have you ever testified in court? For what?

2. Do you still have your wedding dress?

3. Is there a special place you like to go when you're happy, sad, stressed, etc.?

4. If you have kids, do they sleep with you? If you don't have kids...will you let your kids sleep with you when/if you have them?

5. Do you watch late night TV?

1. Have you ever testified in court? For what?
Yes - none of your business.

2. Do you still have your wedding dress?

No - it accidentally got thrown out with some really old clothes one day many, many years ago.  So sad.  It was a pretty dress.  I have pictures, though.  When I showed one to Grandson #1 - he said - "That was YOU - Grandma???"  Yeah, honey - that was me!  (Over thirty years ago!)

3. Is there a special place you like to go when you're happy, sad, stressed, etc.?
My Happy Place is My Sewing Room.  I LOVE My Sewing Room!!

4. If you have kids, do they sleep with you? If you don't have kids...will you let your kids sleep with you when/if you have them?
Nope - never did let the kids sleep with us.  They had their own beds.  And - horrible parents that we were/are - we expected them to use them.

5. Do you watch late night TV?
Sometimes - Jay Leno and Craig Ferguson mostly - not much after that.

1. Do you know what your REAL hair color is?

2. Do you plan ahead for summer, or fly by the seat of your pants?

1. Do you know what your REAL hair color is?
Yeah - it's white.  Used to be gray - now it's just plain ol' white.  Doesn't clash with anything I wear, though - so that's good.

2. Do you plan ahead for summer, or fly by the seat of your pants?
Fly by the seat of my/our pants.  We don't have school-age kids so summer to us just means more kids are out of school - and traffic is more of a nightmare than usual.  We plan for the traffic - not for the summer.

3. What is your favorite meal to cook?
Who says I cook?  Like the saying goes -
I only have a kitchen 'cuz it came with the house.

4. Do you get offended by not receiving thank yous?
Absolutely!!  I think that manners are sadly lacking in society these days.  It seems that "Please" - "Thank you" - and "You're welcome" are now considered old-fashioned - so "last century" - and I think that's a shame!  How hard is it to say "Thank you"???

5. How did you meet your best friend?
Best "girl" friend - through another girl friend.
Best "guy" friend - at work - then I married him.

And THIS WEEK - I have a quilt entered in the Weekly Themed Contest.  The category was People/Faces and I just couldn't resist entering my quilt - "SANTA'S SISTERS"!  So - VOTE FOR ME!  (Click on the logo on the right sidebar - or on the Weekly Themed Contest link above or HERE.  When you get to the site -  if it won't let you vote - bookmark the site on YOUR computer.  Go to YOUR bookmark and vote there.  I know it's a round-about way of doing it - but if it won't let you vote from my site - I think it may think I am trying to vote again - and the site only allows one vote per IP address - not email address.  That's just the way it's set up - so you may have to make your own bookmark - sorry.)

Anyway - here are the questions for this week -

2. Where did you go on your very first date? (Like...first first, not first with your spouse or current significant other!)

3. What's your "silly" fear? (We're not talking water and heights.)

4. Confrontation: do you cause it, deal with is as it comes, or run far far away?

5. Wood floors or carpet?

Not that I recall.  Could have - don't remember - haha.

I honestly don't remember!  That was a loooooooooooong time ago!

3. What's your "silly" fear? (We're not talking water and heights.)
No such thing as a "silly" fear!  If you're afraid of something - it's not "silly" at all!

Runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

5. Wood floors or carpet?
Pergo - great stuff! - though it does put the "hard" in laminated hardwood.

I was visiting mainer's blog a couple of weeks ago and she had this "FIVE QUESTION FRIDAY" thing going on.  I answered the questions on her blog a couple of times - and - it was so fun I thought I would do it on my blog too.  Thanks mainer!  (Here's the link if you want to do it on your blog.) 










The questions come from My Little Life and Mama M.  She has a "Blog Hop", too.  I wasn't quite sure what a "Blog Hop" was - but I checked the link and thought I would give it a try.  Who knows? Might be fun.  We'll see.  You'll see the list of blogs to "Hop" at the end.

1. Can you drive a stick shift?
YUP - can - and will - if I have to.  I learned how to drive using a stick shift and drove several different ones throughout the years.  I still hate being stopped at the top of a hill or incline and trying to get just the right combination of brake/clutch and accelerator so I don't roll back down the hill - and into the guy behind me.  I obviously prefer an automatic transmission.    

2. What are two foods you just can't eat?
Can't think of any.  I even like liver.  My kids gag on the stuff - so, yay - more for me!

3. Do you buy Girl Scout Cookies? What is your favorite kind?
I haven't bought Girl Scout Cookies in years.  Used to though.  Don't remember my favorite kind.

4. How do you pamper yourself?
I get a pedicure once in a while but my husband pampers me all of the time.  I love him.

5. What is your nickname and how did you get it?
My nickname is "MOM" - even my husband calls me that.  Or "GRANDMA" - if the grandkids are around.  Original, huh?
