These days I have the attention span of a gnat -
So this Mystery and it’s Clues suit me just fine -
I go back and forth and back and forth and back and forth -
Well - you get the idea - ;))
Here’s what I did this past week -
And the order I did it in -
(great grammar, huh?) -
Worked on Clue #1 - QST -
Got 5 stacks of 10 each = 50 finished -
And - in the basket - 3 rows of 10 pinned sets of 10 pairs each = 300 pairs = 150 finished -
plus 4 pinned sets of 10 pairs each = 40 pairs = 20 finished -
plus the odd-ball 4 finished -
should total 224 after all of the pairs are sewn together
Worked on Clue #2 - sorted my blue strips -
Then Clue #3 came out -
So I worked up a post for Lefties -
Showing how to use the Easy Angle Ruler to cut the HST Left-Handed
Then I set Clue #1 - aside -
And set myself up at my pressing station -
To work on Clue #2 -
And made four blue string blocks -
You may have noticed the wolves on the design wall -
Well - that’s going to be the backing for WSong -
But that kinda got interrupted -
Then - I went back to Clue #3 -
After I did the demo for the Easy Angle Ruler -
I thought I might try to make some using Triangulations -
To see if that would be easier -
Let’s see -
Cut 350 pairs from strips using the ruler -
or 15 pages of 24 each to make 360 with triangulations -
350 plus 10 extra for insurance -
hmmmmmmm -
I figured if I cut the sheets in half - 30 pages of 12 each -
That would give me more variety -
And besides - my stash if more in the form of 10” squares and fat quarters -
So cutting the “chunks” that I need for the sheets -
Actually works better for me -
And I DO WHAT WORKS FOR ME!! ;))
Anyway - here’s the first set - sewn - following the lines -
And - YES - I do sew over pins -
Don’t tell the quilt police!!
I want the pins to hold the paper to the fabric -
Where I’m going to SEW it -
So I put them ACROSS the seam lines - and sew right over them -
They are thin and so far I have had no problems - but I am CAREFUL!!
Then I removed the pins and trimmed the sheets -
And cut them apart -
NOTE:
I have TWO rotary cutters -
Both blue -
The one with the ribbon is for PAPER ONLY -
When I go to change blades on the FABRIC ONLY one -
I just take the ribbon off the PAPER one and put it on the FABRIC one -
To mark it as the NEW PAPER one -
And put the new blade in the “unribboned” one - for FABRIC ONLY -
BEFORE I take the paper off -
I use the pressing stick to mash down the seam -
The paper keeps it from getting tweaked or stretched -
After the paper is removed -
I have 11 that are PERFECT -
And #12 came up a bit short
There’s one in every crowd, huh? ;))
I think #12 was probably a corner square -
And I probably trimmed him just a thread or two short -
And that - multiplied by 4 sides - made him short -
or maybe he was Born That Way - sorry, Lady Gaga! ;))
At least that’s what I THINK I did - who knows?
So - one set down -
Only 29 more to go -

Then there’s the rest of Clue #1 -
And the rest of Clue #2 -
Looks like I’ll be just as busy as the rest of you for a LOOONG while -
