And I DID decide to work on something else -
Surprise - surprise - ;))
I found a cute FREE pattern - HERE -
Printed off the pattern and template -
Chose my strips -
CT - Bits and Bobbins -
I was supposed to cut the strips down to 2” -
But - of course - I forgot until I sewed the first two together -
So I trimmed them after sewing -
The instructions say to sew the strips together -
Make a set -
Fold the set in half -
Place the pattern on top and stitch around it -
The pattern is only as wide as a sheet of paper -
8-1/2” MAX -
One section for the top -
One section for the bottom -
For a total of 17” plus some just because -
Say 20” total is used -
From a 40” strip -
So - only half of the strip is actually used - right? -
WHY am I trimming the WHOLE strip down to 2”? -
Seems like a waste of perfectly good strips to BOB - ;))
So BOB decided to fold the strips in half - FIRST -
Trim the selvage -
And cut 9” off the selvage ends -
Then trim THEM to 2” -
Saving the rest of the strip for something else - ;))
I had two sets of strips to sew -
No problem -
Pressed one set UP -
Pressed the second set DOWN -
And layered them -
Trying to “nest” the seams -
With the pattern on top -
And rather than trace the pattern onto template plastic -
I traced the pattern onto freezer paper -
Because I have NO idea where my template plastic is -
And my box of freezer paper is on the bottom shelf of my cutting table - ;))
Pinned it all together -
Trying to match the seams on the layers -
Stitched on the line -
Leaving an opening for the stuffing part -
And saw another squirrel - ;))
At that point -
I decided to take a break and dig through some fabric -
To see if I could find something suitable -
For some more Sudoku Quilts -
For Halloween and Thanksgiving - ;))
These might work -
But I want/need to dig some more -
See what else I can find - ;))
I'm pretty sure that I've told you before -
That I have the attention span of a gnat -
And I have the UFOs to prove it - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

I can hardly wait to see a finish on the cat piece!
Thanks, Gene - I'm a VERY Slow Poke Quilter - and get distracted VERY easily - but should get back to it soon - ;))
Hey, get back here! I was waiting to see a cat! You're as bad as I am!!! I wonder if I had that ADD or ADHD as a kid and no one knew it......
I will - I will - you'll see him in a couple of days - I PROMISE!! I CAN focus when I need to - but I think my problem is that when I was working, I was switching gears - and clients - and problems - every time the phone rang - or someone came into my office - and it's a hard habit to break. I go off in a different direction every time I turn around. But he IS done - and you WILL see him SOON - I promise - ;))
Oh the Cat!! Cute! Love the fall fabrics.
Thanks, Linda - the cat turned out really cute - I'll show you guys in a couple of days - ;))
