Two Question Tuesday - 10/18/11

Two Question Tuesday – 10/18/11

Here's the deal - I really liked Mama M.'s Five Question Friday - but that's just too many questions for me.  So I'm going to do my version - and without the linky thingy.

I'll ask two questions and then give you my answers.  If you want to play - you can give me your answers in the comment section.  If you have a blog and would rather answer them there - just leave a link to your blog instead. I don't know how to do the "Linky" thing like Mama M. yet - and to be honest - I would rather sew than find out - so I'll do it this way until I figure it out.
==========

Two questions for you this Tuesday -

1.  What is your favorite oxymoron?
2.  What quilting tehnique is on your “I REALLY want/need to get better at that!” list?

==========

1.  What is your favorite oxymoron?
Ooh, that’s a tough one.  I love oxymorons and have a whole list of them somewhere.
I usually can’t decide between – modern antiques - jumbo shrimp – plastic glass – pretty ugly - original copy – and genuine imitation leather.  But my absolute favorite oxymoron phrase is – “Click on the START button to SHUT DOWN your computer.”

2.  What quilting tehnique is on your “I REALLY want/need to get better at that!” list?
Free-motion quilting. I REALLY want/need to get better at that! I need to practice – A LOT - and SOON!!

==========

OK - your turn.

Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Oxymorons - my favorites have to be the phrases parents tell their kids, and let's face it kids take everything quite literal! "Close your mouth when eating" and a kid thinks, how can I put the food in my mouth? a kid's whining and the parent says "if you don't quit whining I'll give you something to whine about" - oh yeah, that's a way to produce a quiet atmoshphere! Anyway...... Quilting - I would love to perfect hand applique, but I know I'm too impatient to do much of it. Even trying to learn hexagons was a trial because it was taking too long ;-)

#1 - I've been scratching my head over this all day and will probably come up with a good one now that I've given up... Seems I was just thinking of one of these yesterday...

#2 - Free motion longarming! I'm more impatient than I should be, so practice doesn't happen as often as it should. Once I spend the time getting something on the frame, I want it to be something I can finish, not something I can just doodle around with.

My two favourite oxymorons would have to be artificial intelligence and good grief. The second I say a lot when the first is not playing the game! Oh, also student teacher....I had a couple of these recently....on their first teaching practise....there ya go another oxymoron! Quilting....I'm with you....need more practise on free motion quilting.
