Design Wall Monday - Orca Bay - 11/28/11

DESIGN WALL MONDAY - ORCA BAY - 11/28/11

Those of us who are linking up with Judy L. at Patchwork Times - Design Wall Monday -
and -
Those of us who are playing along with Bonnie Hunter's ORCA BAY MYSTERY QUILT -
are linking up on Mondays.  Check out our progress on her blog - Quiltville's Quips & Snips!!
We are all working at our own pace - following along with her clues - it is NOT a race.  ;))

I'm linking up with them both - so -
This is what I've been working on this past week.
=====

This is only week two -

And I’m already behind!!

Been working on the 224 units from last week -

Got about 50 completed -

About another 140 pairs sewn together -

About another 100 pairs cut and ready to sew -

And now I’m getting myself confused as to how many of what is what -

And where I am -

And how many more I need -

I think I’m about 50 short -

But I’m NOT sure -

So - I’m going to finish this batch -

And then count them -

To find out how many I REALLY have -

In the meantime -

I pulled out my blue strings and strips

And some fat quarters -

And I cut out the 72 paper patches -

I KNOW how many of those I have -

‘Cuz they are WAY easier to count - ;))

Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

You are well on your way. :) Here's my little hint. Clip or pin in groups of 10. It makes your counting so much easier. I also keep a tally sheet in the finished units basket. And of course I have to re-count but counting to 20 is so much easier than counting to 200. Can't wait to see more.

Looks like your are really organized and sure to get everything done!

That looks far too organized to be that hard to count! (And isn't math your specialty?!) They're looking great! The string blocks should go faster, right?

You are off to a terrific start- and you are two steps ahead of me, since I can't decide which colors to use where!!

I have been following the progress others are making with this. I would love to join in, but I just don't have time right now. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.

Step 1 definitely was a doozy and step 2 was fun. Wonder what step 3 will be!
