Sergio's New House -

Looky what my bloggy buddy - LindaJ - sent me!! -

She made THIS!!! -

It’s Sergio’s NEW HOUSE!!! -

With his NAME on it and everything!!! - ;))

THANKS, LINDA!!! - ;))

She has been working on it for a while -

And posted on her blog on Sunday that she had finished it - HERE -
I was working on the serger cover for my friend the lefthanded quilter when Skyler decided to inspect the inside of mine. I didn't realize that it had hit the floor and there he was! That is the only picture I can or want to share right now till I know she has received her package. The project is finished up, the box packed and I will take it to the post office tomorrow. I finished up a little too late on Friday to make it in there before the 4 p.m. closing time on Friday.

I left her a comment -
OOOOOHHHHH - I can hardly wait!!! I haven't told Sergio that he's getting a new house - he would be on pins and needles - and we all know that sergers don't play nice with pins - ;)) THANKS, LINDA!!!

===

When LindaJ mentioned that she was looking for a serger -
I told her that I had one -
And that I had named him Sergio - ;))

And then I told her all about him -
Gave her a link -
And all of that stuff - ;))

Now you have to understand -
Just because I HAVE a serger -
Doesn’t mean that I know how to USE a serger - ;))

I have turned Sergio on exactly ONCE - (pun intended) -
And am TOTALLY intimidated by the thought of having to thread him -
Silly, I know - but intimidated nevertheless - ;))

Then -

Dang (PG version) if she didn’t get herself one just like it!! - ;))

When she made a cover for hers -
She offered to make one for me -
If I asked her nicely - ;))

I asked her VERY nicely -
And she made Sergio -
A NEW HOUSE!!! - ;))

His OLD HOUSE is plain old vinyl -
And very hot - ;))

His NEW FABRIC BREADBOX HOUSE has -

Pockets in the front -
For stuff -

A pocket on the LEFT side -
For stuff -

A pocket on the RIGHT side -
For the foot pedal -

She even included a little zippered bag to match -
All cute and color-coordinated - ;))

AND she put in a zipper on the top of Sergio's house -
For access to the carrying handle -

Sergio calls it - AIR-CONDITIONING - ;))

I knew about the zipper -
Because she asked me if I wanted the zipper pull -
To go from left to right or from right to left - ;))
She is a truly a Right-Handed Friend of A Left-Handed Quilter -
To even think to ask! - ;))

And I CRACKED UP when I saw the LINING -
The LINING IS PERFECT!! - ;))
IT'S M&M'S!! - ;))
WHAT A HOOT!! - ;))

Now Sergio has all of the M&M’s that he can eat!! - ;))

THANKS, LINDA!!! -

I suppose now that Sergio has a NEW HOUSE -

He probably expects me to MOVE him -

To a table where I can SEE him - ;))

And then he probably expects me -

To watch those dang (PG version) videos again -

And learn how to THREAD him -

And then learn how to USE him -

Which I probably should have done -

A LONG time ago - ;))

Don’t get me wrong -

Playing with Sergio is definitely on my "want to do" list -

But I like playing with my scraps, too -

And they are seriously out of control at the moment - ;))

Then there's Free-Motion Quilting -

MUCH more fun than learning how to thread Sergio -

Especially if he wants to get snotty about it - haha - ;))

So I think that I’m going to let him get settled -

While I play with all of the SCRAPS that she stuffed in the bottom of the box!! -
She emptied part of her scrap basket for me -
And boy, that lady can stuff a box!! - ;))

THANKS, LINDA!!! -

Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Put Sergio to work making a scrap quilt- I don't use my serger as much as I'd like either and forget about using it to it's fullest potential - rolled hems? don't know how... those fancy edgings on T-shirts - nope, never figured that one out... So, you go learn, post some tutorials, then I'll "reverse it" :-)

That's a good idea, Katie!! - IF and WHEN I learn how to use Sergio - I will be sure to post it - just don't hold your breath - haha - ;)) Maybe we should all ask LindaJ to help us out - she ALREADY knows how - ;))

Oh I don't know near what I could! I have the piping and elastic tape foot ordered and I still want to try the gathering. I am not intimidated by mine and threading gets easier, I promise.

Glad you like it and hope Sergio will feel right at home in his new cloth, bigger than a bread box home. I have more of that M & M stuff as my mom sent it to me for backs and stuff. Cute, huh? Have fun with the scraps!

Haha - you know more than I do and should be posting the tutorials - and selling the pattern for Sergio's new house - ;)) He is already feeling right at home and enjoying his M&Ms. Now I want/need to make a mug rug out of that fabric to match my M&M mug - ;))

Linda is right-handed but has family members who are left-handed - and she has told me that she figured it could have gone either way - ;))
