LTRTCWSA - Placemats - 10/5/12
Another episode of -
Leisurely Turtle Race to Christmas with Squirrels Allowed - ;))
I played with the placemats again -
Marked my guide line with chalk -
Stitched the binding down -
Trimmed it -
Here you can see how it’s trimmed to about 3/8” past the center rectangle -
I placed the seam in the bottom right corner -
Hopefully it will not be that noticeable -
Used my handy-dandy hair clips to hold the binding in place -
When it’s all done -
It’s pretty close to the size of my other placemats -
And that works for me - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Very Nice! And that backing fabric is so pretty. Are you finishing the binding by hand or machine?
Thanks! I'm finishing the binding by machine. I like to sew it to the back - fold it to the front - and then stitch it down with a decorative stitch - ;))
I wondered the same thing as the other Linda---hand or machine? You are going to have some pretty placemats come holiday season. You or someone else if they are intended as a gift.
Hooray for almost a finish!
