Today I was able to play with the backing -
For my Quarter Log Cabin -
Pattern -  © 2015 - by Liz Katsuro -
You can get her FREE patterns - HERE -
I cut all of the sections -
And laid them out on my ironing board -
Similar to the diagram -
I decided to add some strips between the big chunks -
To lengthen it a bit -
And all of the sections are not fully visible -
So they may appear shorter/narrower than they really are -
Then - of course - I came up ONE strip SHORT -
In the 3rd column - LOL -
So -
Rather than cut up another strip from the extras I have on hand -
I thought I could piece a section from some leftover "units" -
It should look something like this -
But now -
Looking at the photo -
I might swap out the pieced section -
For the top Gray one in the 2nd column -
And then switch some of the other Yellow and Gray strips around -
Or not - LOL -
Don't know yet -
It's a "Work in Progress" -
So stay tuned - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

It looks great. You're going to have a reversible quilt by the time you're done. 😁
I see a lot of possibilities for playing with this.
(Example: the 3 strips in column one could become an uneven nine patch -or depending on sizes a 12 patch {3x4 patch})
But then you might need some extra fabric and I know you have such a small stash. Ha ha.
You never fail to keep us on our toes!
Unrelated — between you and Gene I’ve been inspired to try using my hands to do some simpler piercing. I bought two beautiful fabrics yesterday and we’ll see where it goes! 😂
