As promised -
Today I'll show you how I make the "loop" -
And try to clarify some stuff - ;))
I decided to stitch the binding down with a straight stitch -
And started in the one corner -
And continued on around -
Mitering the corners as I came to them -
And when I got to the end -
I kept going -
Folding the binding in on itself -
Enclosing the raw edges -
And sewing off the potholder onto the binding -
I used a pin to mark 4" from the edge of the Potholder -
And sewed a little past it -
Just because -
Then I took it to the ironing board -
And measured out 4" -
And cut it off -
Turned the Potholder over -
And looped the binding around to the back -
To match the binding on the first side -
I stitched a big "X" where the binding crosses itself -
Put it up on the design wall for a photo -
And realized that I started in the wrong corner -
The loop should be in the corner on the right -
Oh, well -
I'm not "fixing" it - LOL -
The back side is a darker green -
But it still might be too pretty to use - LOL -
Maybe I'll finish up the other three -
Then make some using wider strips -
And darker colors -
Those should be pretty - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Ha ha....starting on the wrong corner is the type of mistake I make all too often.
Fortunately, it still looks great.
Very nice!
Aren't you the clever one? Nice work.
It's not a mistake. It's a design element. 😉 Looks great.
