A picture -

Is worth 1000 words -

I knew two of the victims -

And two of those bullets have their names on them -

And even if I didn't know any of them personally -

The whole thing is surreal -

How many times does this kind of thing have to happen -

Before we find a way to stop it from happening again? -

And -

What do we do now? -

A moment of silence then back to business as usual? -

Because life goes on? -

The hotel will probably gut the room and renumber it -

And fix the windows -

So no one is reminded of the massacre -

BOB and I would NOT gut the room OR fix the windows -

We would seal off the entire floor -

So EVERYONE would see those shot-out windows -

And remember -

EVERY.

SINGLE.

DAY.

But then again - it's probably just me -

Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

I have no words. But I am glad that The New Yorker honored the victims with the cover rather than the shooter.

No, you're NOT the only one, and you're right. They SHOULD seal off the whole floor and leave the shot-out windows. Maybe seeing it everyday will keep it in thoughts rather than just fixing it up and pretending it didn't really happen! I fear for my grandchildren...what kind of world are we leaving for them?
