More playing -

 

 

With the scraps - 

 

 

Then we opened a new puzzle - 

 

And finished the whole thing  -

 

We didn't particularly like doing it - 

 

All of the pieces were "innies" and "outies" -

 

 

But the colors were pretty- 

 

Maybe tomorrow I'll get some sewing done - LOL - ;))

With the scraps from my daughter's - 

 

Quarter Log Cabin - 

 

 

I've already made the backing - 

 

And the binding - 

 

So all I have left to do is make the Scrap Card and Heart - 

 

And set aside some strips to make a border around a quilt label - 

 

For when I get it back from my friend who is quilting it for me - 

 

Which reminds me that I need to set aside some strips -

 

For binding and labels -  

For the ones that aren't quilted yet -

 

I better rescue those scraps - 

 

Before they hit the "general population" -

 

And become something else - LOL - ;))

So I thought I would share some more "puzzle" photos - 

 

We put the "Birds of Asia" aside - again - 

 

And started this one - 

 

But we put that one away - 

 

When we found some "Star Wars" puzzles - 

 

Which were a LOT more fun to do -

 

We did the first one shown on the box - 

And we did the last one shown on the box - 

 

But for some reason I didn't take a photo of the completed puzzle - 

 

I did take some close-ups to show you the FUN shapes of some of the pieces - 

 

"THIS ONE" was NOT what I was expecting for an EDGE piece - 

 

 

And "THESE TWO" looked like edge pieces - 

 

But wound up fitting "inside" - side by side - 

 

Puzzles are fun - 

 

More fun than "chores" - 

 

But playing with fabric and scraps is MORE fun -

 

Than puzzles OR chores - LOL - ;))

I just made some blocks - HERE - 

And sent them to my friend, Frog Quilter - 

 

To layout and make into a Quilty Hug - ;))

For my Summer Breeze Bargello - 

 

 

 

The scrap card has one of each of the fabric scraps on it - 

 

And I was able to get one of each on the heart as well - 

Yay me - LOL - ;))

 

For those of you who may not know -

 

The "hearts" and "scrap cards" are things that I have been making for years - 

 

I had baggies of scraps left over from various quilts - 

 

And I decided that - 

 

Before I tossed them in with the rest of my "scrap" stash - 

 

I would make a "scrap card" for my scrapbook - 

 

And a foundation-paper-pieced "heart" from each set - 

 

Each "heart" would represent one quilt - 

 

And I could applique them to background squares - 

 

Then make a "memory" quilt - 

 

So far - I have a bunch of "hearts" -

 

But absolutely no "plan" for what I'm going to do with them - ;))

I had a tough time deciding which fabrics - 

 

I wanted to use to represent this quilt - 

So I think I'm going to try to use all of them - 

 

I made little strip "segments" for starters -

One little scrap of each fabric goes on the card - 

But I only used a representative couple of fabrics for the heart - 

 

 

 

 

 

There should be 40 little scrap-ends from the 40 strips in the jelly roll - 

 

And the eagle-eyes among you probably noticed - 

 

That all of the groups have five - 

 

Except for the one on the bottom left - 

 

It has six - 

 

I didn't realize that until I posted the photo - 

 

And the card is already sewn - 

 

So I'm not going to try to figure out which of the 41 is a duplicate -

 

Life is too short - 

 

And I have more of these to make - LOL - ;))
