My Antique Squirrel is "hooped" and ready to go -
With 12 (6") blocks in a row -
And 15 rows -
I was hoping that my "workspace" was large enough -
To quilt 6 blocks across and two complete rows -
Before I had to re-hoop it -
But I can only reach 5 blocks across -
And I'm short a couple of inches on the second row -
So I guess I'll just settle in -
And - before you ask -
The new frame will allow me to quilt an entire row across in one pass -
But - to get a larger throat space -
I would need to upgrade the machine -
And that is not in the budget right now - ;))

That's a pretty quilt!
Because of the "couple of inches short" I would probably do an all over design so I could quilt all the space before I re-hooped.
With the smaller throat space you can do detailed quilting and with a larger throat space you might be considering all over larger designs in your quilting. There are pros and cons of both. I have an 18" machine with about 15" of space to quilt. You can spend 12 hours quilting little 4" spaces with special designs or be done in 2-3 hours with an all over design. You might end up liking to do both. The recipient of the quilt isn't probably going to notice the difference.
Doing a whole row across is a good thing. Throat space is never enough. On Wonky Stars, I could not do the entire circle around the stars in one pass, so I had to do it in two sections. I have throat space that is commensurate with my budget, so I just have to figure it out.
