DESIGN WALL MONDAY - ORCA BAY - 2/13/12
Check out all of us who link up with Judy L. at Patchwork Times on Mondays.
We have some awesome stuff on our walls!
Well, THEY do - ME - not so much sometimes - ;))
===
So I added some border geese to the wall -
Along with some white/neutral squares -
So -
Geese - Pointing in?
OR -
Geese - Pointing out?
I like - out
I sewed a couple of the geese -
And changed it up a bit -
The corner ones pointing out -
Seem to frame the black blocks -
The center ones pointing in -
Seem to draw my eye in to that center black block -
Now -
DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?
I see a GIANT 9-patch -
Do YOU see it?
No?
What if I take the middle “patch” out of each side -
Do you see it now?
That’s how I’m going to sew it together -
In “chunks” - not rows -
This post is getting really long -
So check back later -
And I'll show you How I Do It -
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Oooo I really like the last layout!! Way to go on hanging in there. You'll have it finished in no time. ;o) I do marvel about how everyone 'sees' things different. I also sew "chunks" together instead of piece by piece rows...but my chunks were different than yours. And I always sew the completed border on last. We do make the world go round don't we. lol
I'm torn between geese point out all around and half in-half out. Your sewing in chunks has me smiling - my January UFO instructions had things put together that way. I prefer rows (OCD anyone?), but if your way works for you, run with it! It's looking good!
I love it when people do something different with a project than anyone else. A wall hanging of Orca Bay was genius!
I'm going with geese pointing out but center ones pointing in. Looks great! I can't wait to see it next Monday.
oh, looks nice. I like the geese going in an out. Can't wait to see what you decide.
