Got a letter* from a friend/relative -
I had told her that I had a blog -
And to check it out -
To see what I had been up to -
Her letter went like this -
“...B and I did go on your blog but thought it would show more of your things. I little disappointing, not what we expected although don’t know just what we did expect.”
To which I replied -
...Sorry you and B didn’t like my blog. I’ve been posting for almost two years now - documenting the stuff I’m working on as I go along. Right now I’m working on a sampler quilt of 6” blocks - but have made several other quilts - like Wolf Song and some Jelly Roll Race Quilts for the three little daughters of our nephew. I have a page on my blog that lists the quilts that I have made - Quilt Journal - that has links to the quilts that I have posted so far - with more to come. I also have a page dedicated to Left-Handed Quilting with links to stuff I made - Left-Handed - with photos and instructions for lefties. Most of it is about quilting - but some days I rant on and on about something. Lately I have been posting sampler blocks for those who want to make them along with me. I post about whatever interests me on any given day. Blogging is like talking to myself - or writing in my diary or in a journal. It keeps me busy - and it’s fun -
Speaking of which -
I need to make some more blocks so that I have something to post - ;))

I've been thinking lately of starting a new page that is simply photos only - maybe with a small description. Put a note in my 'header' that if you've come looking for photos, click on the photo tab! I read somewhere that most people who are just browsing blogs, will by-pass one that doesn't have a photo........ I guess I spend a lot of time writing to myself......
Tsk! Tsk! How dare you blog about what you want.
Katie - I wouldn't bother - if "they" come looking for photos - "they" can find them - if "they" look for them. I write my blog for me - "they" can read it if "they" want - or not - ;))
Silly me - I thought that it was my blog - and that I was "showing my things" all along - ;))
Uh, didn't realize our blogs needed critiqued?? Some think they do, I guess. When I told one of my family members that I was blogging she was like "why?" as though I would not have anything to share. Am I THAT boring?? (Actually one of her local friends in TN may have found me soon after that, I think---and they BOTH quilt.
Well, 6 years and just a hair over 900 posts later I guess I had something to say and share. Not always my stuff since I am very proud of what my little group of 12 manages to do but still.
Like you, I do this for me, I told family member that I was doing it for ME. I don't care if I don't have a ton of followers. Heck, my own quilt group doesn't even read it nor do a couple of my closest online friends. Their loss, I figure.
I have friends/family who don't read either one of my blogs. One told me that she doesn't read BOB because she prefers the "sweet" me - and that the Target rant hit a little too close to home - she couldn't make change when she was younger either - BUT she learned - so the rant wasn't about her anyway - it was about the ones who don't know and don't bother to find out how to do it. We can all be sweet - we can all be bitchy - I tend to be very moody - but I LOVE to quilt - and I LOVE to talk - and blogging is my way of doing both. I am A LEFT-HANDED QUILTER and have figured out how to do some stuff - and I am willing to share what I know. Read my blog(s) or not - don't really care - I'll blog as long as it's FUN - when it stops being FUN - I will stop doing it - ;)) And I agree with you - for those who don't read them - their loss - ;))
Just can't please everyone. At least she wrote you back to let you know she stopped by.
I gave up trying to please everyone - a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago - ;))
