Still moving along -

After taking time out for some "other" stuff that is not quilting related -

And I have most of the first panel together -

And the strips from the second panel are ready to go -

Pinned in "twosies" to the ironing pad -

It's not fancy - but it's my "system" -

And it works for me - LOL - ;))

If you're wondering why it takes me so long to sew the strips together -

It might help to know that each strip has 41 pieces -

And I have to match/nest 40 seams -

On - E.V.E.R.Y. - S.I.N.G.L.E. - S.T.R.I.P. -

It's not as bad as it sounds -

But it does take some time -

And with 40 strips and 40 seams per strip -

If I'm a little off in the "seam matching" on a few -

I'm good with that - LOL - ;))

And I'm being really good on another front as well -

The Mosaic Bicycle Squirrel is still in the box - LOL - ;))

Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

40 per strip? I now know why I will never make a bargello (even if I didn't know why until just now). But you do what makes you happy and what I see is beautiful. Good luck resisting the squirrel. I'm hoping to not find any more today as I be lazy and recover and, because I have a stupid smartphone, obviously peruse pinterest and blogs excessively!

You just reminded me why my bargello kit is still in the bag. Matching all those seams is so Sloooooow. Maybe I will do mine as a half drop so there are No seams to match. LOL

When I sewed my OBW together, it had a lot of seams. I pinned every one with the fork pins and did not regret the time it took.

Just keeping those strips in the right order would be a big challenge. With my luck I would get the right strip and end up sewing it from the wrong end.
