Sometimes I have a humungous “DUH” moment -
Ever have one of those??
I had one yesterday -
When it occurred to me that I was doing a really DUHmb thing - ;))
Why am I trying to get my oldest machine set up to do the 1/4” seam??
I have another much newer machine available -
One with a custom-fitted 1/4” seam guide with flange -
One with a built-in 1/4” seam allowance stitch setting -
One with adjustable needle positions -
One with a needle-down setting -
Why don’t I use the Lexus/Lily to sew the 1/4” seams for the piecing -
Where the seam allowance is critical -
And the Pinto to do the string blocks -
Where the seam allowance is irrelevant??
All I have to do is change the needle to a size 14 -
And take off the magnetic guide -
Repeat after me -
DUH!! ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

OMG!! I am parking the car now!!! ROFL
That's hardly a duh moment compared to some I've had lately! But don't beat yourself up over it - you figured it out and all is well. :) Are you actually going to sew QUILT pieces together any time soon, though? :0
I am smiling because I have alot of those moments!
I believe we are kindred spirits. So many duh moments, I attribute those to the many thoughts in my head that are trying to get out and be put into creative endeavors.
