Block #46 - Card Trick
For this block -
You will need to cut -
HST and QST TRIANGLES
NOT squares -
Of 5 different fabrics -
4 each of one light fabric -
2 each of two DIFFERENT medium fabrics -
2 each of two DIFFERENT dark fabrics -
I already had one light/medium HST SQUARE -
And one light/medium QST UNIT -
So I just filled in the rest -
DO NOT SEW THEM TOGETHER YET -
Cut the pieces -
And lay them out like this -
You want to have the darks on opposite corners -
And the mediums on the other opposite corners -
NOW YOU CAN SEW THEM TOGETHER -
I started with the QST in the center -
Just to keep my colors straight -
But you gotta pay attention -
Or it comes out like this - ;))
It’s supposed to look like this -
Then I sewed the HST in each corner -
Keeping the light on the OUTSIDE corner -
Then the 3-Triangle Squares -
Making SURE that the colors -
Were where they were supposed to be - ;))
With the light on the OUTSIDE edge of the block -
Trimmed the dog-ears -
And then assembled it as a 9-patch -
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -
