Was next on the Noah's Ark baby quilt panel -
So I started with the bird beaks on the right side -
The GOLD/YELLOW outline is "cleaner" -
Than the WHITE one that I stitched earlier -
So there IS improvement -
Then I tried "Lazy 8s" or "Wishbones" in the rainbow stripe -
And decided that those are much easier to do "straight up/down" -
Than they are to do "sideways" -
And a little texture in the Camel's face that you can hardly see -
I still have some GOLD/YELLOW to do in the Ark -
And the Lions on the right -
And the Giraffes at the bottom -
And the top corners -
So that's on the agenda for tomorrow - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

This is looking good. I am glad that you are starting to see the improvements happening in your quilting.
I agree that some designs seem to work better in one direction than in others
Looking great! I struggle sometimes to make my brain figure out designs in a different direction. So many years of writing left to right, top to bottom has programmed my brain that going any other direction is wrong. I'm getting better, but sometimes it takes a while to convince my stubborn head that other directions for doodling are okay. You must be getting close to done by now?
So now you know that it is true that practice is the way to learn FMQ!
Love your stitching. Every time you stitch you get better!!!
I'm enjoying catching up with your posts. You are obviously having a great time with quilting this piece.
