A little of this -
And a little of that -
Will eventually get my Devon County Bento Box blocks sewn - ;))
Bento Box - HERE -
I think this will be a TWO cookie sheet project -
One for the "cutting" - get ready to sew -
One for the "sewn" - get ready to press -
Then back to pressed and ready to "cut" again -
So it should alternate nicely as I go along - ;))
And I do believe that Gene's Bento Box is going to be prettier than mine -
His strips are solid - so it won't show if they are cut crookedly -
Whereas mine will -
And do -
The wonky cuts will make my piecing look wonky -
But that's OK - maybe it will get lost in the "busy" -
And I don't really mind anyway -
Because I know it wasn't me -
And I'm just going with the flow - LOL - ;))
So I pressed a little -
And I cut a little -
And I sewed a little -
And then I sewed a little more - ;))
Rinse and repeat - LOL - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Can’t wait to see your blocks
Maybe just have an adult beverage while sewing and things will even out?! But that crookedness plagues me, too. I understand how it can happen and how hard it would be to keep straight, but it also bothers me. So I try to keep away from fabrics like those, unless they scream too loud. Then I buy them anyways and just make sure I'm wearing my big girl panties!
I am looking forward to seeing your blocks. I should probably go ahead and cut all the 6 1/2" pieces off the strips first, but the lazy part of me says "do it as you go." We will see which one wins.
Some prints are just printed crooked on the bolt so that even the best cutting comes out looking wonky.
I think yours will be pretty because you have those "almost whites" to go with the vivid prints.
It's frustrating when the designs are printed straight on the fabric. Chances are, though, it won't be noticeable once it is in with the other blocks / fabrics.
