Total blocks -
So far -
For my Sakura Churn Dash -
Two are sewn together -
And the rest are in sets waiting for "centers" -
I used the left over strips to cut "singles" for six more blocks -
And had enough left to cut 60 "centers" -
And still had some extra -
Along with some bits and pieces -
I love how easy it is to use my LEFT-EZE™ Rule -
Layer the strips - with the darker one on the bottom -
To cut the HST and "bars" for my Sakura Churn Dash -
And - of course - the center square - LOL -
These little 9-patches come out to 6-1/2" with NO fuss -
Choose two contrasting strips - 2-1/2" strips will make a 6" finished block -
Each pair of strips will make two blocks plus left overs -
To cut two blocks at a time - fold the strip over on itself to make 4 layers -
HST - cut 4 pair - sew them together - press - trim ONE dog-ear on each -
Bars - cut 4 pair - sew - press -
Center - cut one - from the same or a different strip (I cut mine from left overs)
Lay it out with the colors going whichever way you want -
If you make two blocks at a time - you can make one of each - LOL -
Assemble the block -
Sew together three rows of three units each -
Press the top and bottom rows IN toward the center patch -
Press the middle row OUT from the center -
Sew the rows together - and press them OUT from the center row -
That way - two sides are pressed IN toward the center patch -
And two sides are pressed OUT from the center patch -
And a quarter-turn of a block will make the seams nest nicely with the next block -
So - anyway - I put a few of the "singles" together -
Here are the first pair in the top row - plus a new one -
And then five more new ones -
I'm so glad I was able to get 60 blocks from one pack of strips -
Now I know that two flat packs will make enough blocks -
To get a 10 x 12 layout of 6" finished blocks -
And come out to about 60" x 72" -
Which is a pretty decent size -
Without borders -
I really don't like having to add long borders to quilt tops -
They get too unwieldy very quickly - LOL - ;))
Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Your blocks are beautiful and will make a nice quilt.
It's going to be a pretty quilt. I don't add borders very often either.
Very lovely blocks and another wonderful quilt on its way! I am completely “number-challenged” so only comment on the design wall visual. Lol. Beautiful!
Gorgeous blocks! Love those colors.
Looking forward to seeing those blocks all together...
