On a roll -

And I tripped up - LOL - ;))

I was on a roll -

And sewed the last THREE sets for my Upstairs/Downstairs - Gleaned - top -
Gleaned - © Carolyn Friedlander - Robert Kaufman -

THREE sets - 18 blocks -

And then realized that I didn't change the needle position setting from 3.5 to 4.0 -

I thought I might be able to get by without fixing them -

But I measured some blocks and they were barely 10-1/4" -

When they need to be 10-1/2" to match the other blocks -

That one "click" to the right gives me my "scant" 1/4" seam -

And that one "click" times four seams - adds up -

So I tripped -

And have to un-sew them all to fix them - RATS!! -

So I un-sewed one of the center seams on one set -

And spent the rest of the day on the computer -

Watching videos and bookmarking others that I want to watch later - LOL -

Then - after dinner -

I decided to do another watercolor -

This time I wanted to do the "Easy Flowers" - HERE -

With the "other" PURPLE watercolor pencils that I didn't use yesterday -

So I chose -

the same BLUE as yesterday - from the "kit" -
Learn Watercolor Pencil Techniques Now! Kit -
Item #6021059 -

And the "other" PURPLES from the Crayola 24 pack -
Crayola 24 ct. Watercolor Pencils -
Item 12849709 -

BLUE VIOLET -
RASPBERRY -

Along with the LIGHT GREEN from yesterday (kit)
BROWN from yesterday (kit)

And both #4 round watercolor paint brushes -

Started with the flowers -

And got this one -

The BLUE is the same as yesterday -

The BLUE VIOLET on the right looks sort of GREY to me -

And the RASPBERRY on the bottom is a pretty PINK -

NOTE TO SELF - pay attention to the spacing and placement of the flowers -
these look too crowded - the top right one should be farther up and to the right -
the bottom one should be lower like the one I did yesterday -
either space them farther apart - or do one flower at a time -
the BLUE VIOLET and RASPBERRY ones look like they are behind the BLUE one -
but that's only because I ran out of room and the BLUE one was in the way - LOL -

Side by side - yesterday and today - ;))

I found so many videos that I want to watch -

I think I'll un-sew some blocks -

Watch a video -

And repeat -

Until I either run out of blocks -

Or run out of videos - LOL - ;))

Talk to you later - gotta go - gotta sew -

Great plan! It may feel negative, but you will accomplish something by running out of what needs attention!

I like the "crowded" flowers, too. I think I am finally learning to use the watercolor pencils effectively - using the General's kit that you got. When I learn the techniques by actually using them to paint something other than swatches, it sticks in my head better.

Sorry you are having to do the un-sewing, but at least you are entertained while doing it.

I like every part of sewing but ripping. Makes me crazy. I found the sharpest, thinest seamripper is the white one by Clover. The scalpel like ripper made too many cuts in the fabric for me. Looks like you are having fun with the watercolor.

YouTube is never a 3rd wheel when on a date with Jack. Making "mistakes" is all part of the learning process. Love how the colors have washed out on today's painting.
